This
is my Niece Symelda with her Husband Mark it was taken sometime after their
wedding in Cebu, this looks like the night that Mark was catching the flight
back to the US . There were some that suggested that he just go to meet her and
come back to the US and petition her under a fiancé visa. He listened to the
wiser folks and married her first. On both approaches to bringing his wife here
he would have to be back here in the US to file a petition for her Immigration.
It was to his advantage to be married to her when he applied for her Visa. There
have been to many cases of fiancé visas expiring such as the case of the US Navy
Seaman who brought his girl to San Diego and did not file in time to change his
girl's immigration status. That couple went to Tiajuana in Mexico across the
border from San Isidro, California and when they tried to come back the Border
Patrol refused the lady re-entry and Mexico then locked her up as an Illegal
immigrant. That was a tragic affair. The sailor had gone awol and so found
himself in trouble with the Military Justice System. Now sit back everyone
because this guy is 3 years older than I am but he still calls me Uncle.
Needless to say my wife and I were very happy to see Symelda come to live near
us . My Grand Nieces are like grand children to me.
